Week ahead: US jobs data, Fedspeakers in focus

The focus will continue to be on the US over the coming week, specifically on Friday's non-farm jobs report for September and a busy slate of Federal Reserve officials, with at least nine expected to deliver speeches throughout the week.

Against that backdrop, Wednesday will see the release of the IHS Markit manufacturing and services sector Purchasing Managers' Indices for the month of September in Britain.

To take note of as well, Monetary Policy Committee member Silvia Tenreyro is due to chair a session at the Rebuilding Macroeconomics Annual Conference on "Bringing Psychology and Social Sciences into Macroeconomics", in London, at 0930 BST, followed by Bank of England chief economist, Andrew Haldane, the next day, at 0945 BST.

In the euro area meanwhile, IHS Markit will publish final readings on its factory and services sector PMIs, for last month, on Monday and Wednesday, respectively.

Further afield, on Monday the Bank of Japan will release its 'short-term' or Tankan business confidence survey for September.

To take note of, rate-setters in Australia and India are set to meet to decide on policy on Tuesday and Friday.
