German CPI in surprise fall to 2%

German annual inflation rate unexpectedly fell to 2% in June, according to preliminary data from statistics office Destatis published on Monday.

The fall brings CPI line with the European Central Bank’s target and was better than a 2.2% reading forecast by analysts.
