The AIM-traded firm said the blast, conducted at the 720-metre level on 30 March, marked a crucial advancement in trial mining activities at the location.

It held particular importance as it signified progress towards the full commissioning of the Nalunaq mine.

The company said the successful blast demonstrated operational efficacy, and paved the way for leveraging the mine's potential to finance exploration endeavours and propel growth across Amaroq’s portfolio in South Greenland.

“I would like to congratulate the team on site at Nalunaq who, working alongside our contractor Thyssen Schachtbau, have reached a milestone moment,” said chief executive officer Eldur Olafsson.

“Work at Nalunaq is progressing to schedule, with rehabilitation works now complete as we prepare to commence trial mining between 100 and 150 tpd from Mountain Block.”

At 0808 BST, shares in Amaroq Minerals were up 0.51% at 76.59p.
